You may think this post is slightly random (aren't all of mine?) but I became quite curious after I heard somewhere that Elvis Presley was a professional truck driver before he became the King of Rock n' Roll! So I took to the great world wide web to see for myself if this was true (it is) and was surprised to find a handful of other celebrities bid their time working in CDL driver jobs.

As previously mentioned, Mr. Presley became a professional truck driver after graduation for the Crown Electric Company. A young Elvis auditioned for a musician who told Elvis he should "stick to truck driving cause you'll never make it as a singer."

Another surprise? The Emmy-winning actor and comedian Chevy Chase was also a professional truck driver (though he had a myriad of odd jobs before he made it big, including busboy, theatre usher, cab driver, and motorcycle messenger). Even more surprising is Sean Connery! The former James Bond became a trucker after he was medically discharged from the Royal Navy.

I have yet to find any famous women truck drivers...but I'm working on it!
